I was inspired by the book “Nagori” by Ryoko Sekiguchi, speaking about japanese words-markers of the season and describing special feelings connected to them. I’ve decided to work with a feeling of spring greeting in northern regions.
When the first warm days are arriving to the place where I live (Saint Petersburg) breath-out is literally heard everywhere in the city. This airy feeling turned into an object — the light semi-transparent cloth on the thin carcass. The print on cloth is a hand-drawn seamless pattern with soil, grass, spring waters and fist bloomers (of the city scape and of the forest) on it.
I’ve offered the idea of this object for ivolga space through the contest of the Moscow Agency of Creative Industries and became a winner of this contest.
Shortly after installation of the object, ivolga decided to produce several silk scarfs with the drawings I made for this project.
